Importing and Updating Companies

This tool lets you bulk import new or update existing Company Relationships—including related companies, contact details, licenses, locations, and relationship settings—all in one CSV.


✅ What You Can Do

  • Create or update relationships between your company and vendors/customers

  • Add or edit related company details

  • Link multiple licenses, locations, and contacts

  • Assign relationship types, groups, and owners

  • Include LeafLink customers and payment terms

⚠️ If updating, you must include the Distru ID for each row
⚠️ Multiple locations, licenses, and contacts per row are supported using numbered headers (e.g., “Contact (First Name) #2”)


🧾 Preparing Your CSV File

🔻 Step 1: Download the Template

  1. Go to Settings > Import Data > Company Relationships

  2. Click Download Template

Template includes base headers; you can add numbered fields for additional contacts or locations.

🗺️ Location & License Fields

Use #1, #2, etc. suffixes for multiple locations or licenses


👤 Contact Fields

📤 Uploading Your File

  1. Navigate to Import Company Relationships

  2. Upload your CSV

  3. Match headers in the mapping UI

  4. Choose Create New or Update Existing

  5. Submit

🎯 Errors return a downloadable CSV with detailed row-level messages
✅ Auto-populates geocoding for new addresses


🔄 Update Mode Rules

ID is Required

For updates, ID must be included in each row

Existing Company Match

If name already exists, row is rejected to avoid conflicts

Partial Updates

You can update just a contact or license without touching other fields

Immutable Fields

Only fields present in the file are updated—others remain unchanged


💡 Pro Tips

  • 🧩 Match user names exactly for owner fields

  • 🗃️ Avoid duplicate related company names across rows

  • 🌐 Adding social URLs enhances customer detail pages

  • 🔄 Use ## to clear existing fields
