Your digital menu shouldn’t just be a list; it should be a curated shopping experience. With the new Custom Menu Collections, you are no longer limited to standard categories like "Flower" or "Edibles."
Now, you can build dynamic, rules-based rows on your menu to tell a story, highlight high-margin items, and guide your customers exactly where you want them to go.
What Are Custom Collections?
Think of a Menu Collection as a virtual shelf.
Official Collections: These are the auto-generated staples (e.g., All Flower, Vapes) that ensure your inventory is organized.
Custom Collections: These are highly specific, curated rows you build yourself. Want a row for "High Potency Sativa" or "Staff Picks under $50"? Now you can build it.
Precision Merchandising: How to Build a Collection
To start curating, navigate to Product Menu > Collection Settings and click Add Collection.
1. Set the Stage (Title)
Give your collection a compelling name (max 30 characters). This is the headline your customers will see.
Ideas: "Summer Sale," "Heavy Hitters," "Local Favorites," or "CBD Wellness."
2. Define the Logic (Conditions)
This is where the magic happens. You don't need to manually add products one by one. Instead, you set Conditions. Any product in your inventory that matches these rules will automatically appear in this row.
Click Add Condition to layer the following filters:
Total THC (Precision Potency): Target the potency hunters. You can define a Minimum and/or Maximum value and toggle between Percentage (%) or Milligrams (mg).
Use Case: Create a "High Octane" row by filtering for Flower with Min 28% THC.
Use Case: Create a "Micro-dose" row by filtering for Edibles with Max 5mg THC.
Brand: Create a "Brand Spotlight" row by selecting one or more specific brands.
Strain: Highlight specific genetics (e.g., "All Blue Dream Products").
Category Type & Product Category: Narrow down by high-level types (Concentrates) or your specific internal categories.
Product Group & Subcategory: Drill down even further into your inventory structure.
Only Featured Products: Combine the power of automation with manual curation. If checked, this row will only include products you have explicitly marked as "Featured" on their product profile.
⭐️ Pro Tip: You can stack conditions for granular control. If you select Brand: "Distru Farms" AND Type: "Pre-Rolls," only Distru Farms Pre-Rolls will appear.
Total Control: Managing Your Menu Flow
Once your collections are built, you have full control over how they are presented to the buyer.
Drag-and-Drop Reordering
Don't bury your best products at the bottom of the page.
In the Collection Settings list, grab the drag handle and move your high-priority collections to the very top of your menu.
Campaign Planning (Hide/Show)
Prep your sales in advance. You can build a "4/20 Specials" collection today, but keep it hidden until the big day.
Click the Options menu (three dots) and select Hide Collection. It saves your configuration but keeps it off the live menu.
When you're ready to launch, simply select Show Collection.
Rapid Replication (Cloning)
Did you build a complex "Indica Flower" collection with specific THC ranges and price tiers? Don't start from scratch for Sativa.
Click the Options menu and select Clone Collection.
This duplicates the entire logic structure. Simply change the title and swap the strain/category condition.
Bonus: Rename Your Official Categories
We have also unlocked the ability to rename the system-generated categories.
If your brand voice doesn't use the word "Vapes," you can change it.
Go to Category Settings.
Find the official category (e.g., Vapes).
Enter a Custom Name (e.g., "Cartridges" or "Extracts").
Your menu will now display your custom terminology while keeping the backend data consistent.
FAQ
How does the THC filter know the potency?
Distru pulls this data directly from the product's Total THC field. If that isn't set, it intelligently looks at the test results associated with the current batch or package in inventory to determine if it belongs in the collection.
Can a product appear in multiple collections?
Absolutely. This is excellent for cross-selling. A specific gummy can appear in "Edibles," "Staff Picks," and "Sleep Aids" simultaneously, maximizing the chances of it being added to a cart.
I selected two Brands in one condition. How does that work?
If you select multiple options within a single condition (e.g., Brand A and Brand B), the collection will show products from either Brand A OR Brand B.
