Auto-moving of packages on internal Metrc transfers and handling of Past Metrc transfers

If you have multiple Metrc licenses synced to a single Distru account you will most likely be moving inventory from one license to another, such as moving inventory from your manufacturing to your distribution account etc.

Transfers of inventory must be initiated in Metrc. Once you create an outgoing transfer in your manufacturing account to your distro account, for example, it will change the packages' status to Transferred  in Distru. Once you accept the incoming transfer on your Distro's Metrc account, the package status in Distru will automatically be updated to Active  with the new location being the in-take location you set for your Distro account in Distru.

Example scenario

  1. In Metrc, you transfer package P1 from their Manu to their Distro. This creates an outgoing transfer T1 and an incoming transfer T2.

  2. In Metrc, you accept the incoming transfer T2 in Distro metrc, so the package becomes active in their Distro license in Metrc.

Outcome
The Distru package, which was in Manuf and had status transferred is automatically updated. Its new attributes are:

  • active status

  • is in Distro location

  • is in the Intake Location associated to Distro location

In the past we required that you sync the outgoing transfer as an internal stock transfer in Distru, but we no longer require that. However, if you would like to have a record of the transfer in Distru, you can still import either the SO or the PO into a stock transfer:

Example Scenario 2

  1. In Metrc: Transfer package P1 from license L1 to license L2. This creates an outgoing transfer T1 and an incoming transfer T2.

  2. In Metrc: Accept the incoming transfer T2 in license L2, so the package becomes active in L2 in Metrc.

  3. In Distru: Import transfers T1 and T2 into a Stock Transfer.

Outcome

Step 3 does not alter the Distru package because after step 2 the Distru package was already in active in license L2. Step 3 simply creates a Stock Transfer and logs a transaction on the package.

The Distru package would not be altered either if instead the user would import transfers T1 and T2 into a SO and a PO.

Please note that Transfers that have been initiated from one metrc license to another are imported as an outgoing transfer before being accepted by the receiving license, will create a Transfer record with the status: Transit  and when accepted by the receiving license, will become Completed  as shown below:
