Overview
Establishing which Distru location within your BioTrack license(s) your packages (BioTrack barcodes) will go once they are received.
To finalize integrating BioTrack into Distru on a company-wide level, the last two steps in the Distru settings this article will cover on how to setup are managing your locations, and selecting default intake locations for licenses, with some optional toggles at the end.
To avoid confusion, keep in mind some verbiage used across both Distru and BioTrack:
Distru | BioTrack |
License | Location |
Location | Room |
4. Manage locations
Distru will automatically populate the available locations to sync from BioTrack, derived from BioTrack login specified earlier during step #1
Distru keeps your Distru locations and BioTrack rooms in a sync through a 1-to-1 mapping, meaning:
Adding locations from within Distru will automatically create that room in BioTrack
Renaming Distru locations from within Distru will automatically update the associated BioTrack room name in BioTrack
Adding and updating BioTrack rooms will automatically sync to their associated Distru locations
5. Select default intake locations for licenses
A default intake location is where Distru will put packages received in an incoming transfer, whether it's a return transfer or any incoming transfer from another organization.
This is also the location where packages sent in an Internal Transfer will end up once sent and received.
In Distru, go to Settings > Integrations > BioTrack
Click on the line 'Select default intake locations for licenses' line to expand the options available
Click the dropdown next to each license to set the preferred intake location
For example, based on the above screenshot, packages received into the 230242 BioTrack license will all end up in the Distru location entitled "Bulk Inventory"
If a package ends up in the wrong location, you can always transfer it to the right location.
If a license does not have an intake location set, Distru will use the first location ever associated to that license by default.
Other settings
There is a toggle that keeps the cost per unit when the quantity of a package increases in BioTrack
When the quantity of a package is increased directly in BioTrack, Distru always reacts by updating the quantity of the package in Distru
If this setting is disabled, the added quantity will not have a cost associated
On the other hand, if this setting is enabled, the added quantity will have the same cost per unit as the pre-existing quantity in the package
