How It Works in Distru
Previously, the DistruCommerce menu only supported a single line item for each product. If a rep wanted to add a product to the same order for two different prices (for example, a full-price case plus a discounted display unit), they had to add the extra line manually in the Sales Order form after placing the order.
Now you can add multiple price tranches for the same product directly from the menu. Each tranche becomes its own line item and all of them flow through to the Sales Order as normal line items.
This applies to the sales rep view of the DistruCommerce menu. Buyers cannot modify prices or add tranches on the buyer-facing menu.
Each tranche flows to the Sales Order as a normal line item — none are tagged as trade samples, and no Metrc compliance flag is triggered.
The existing trade sample request flow is unchanged and remains a separate workflow.
Adding a Product at a Different Price
Step 1: Add the product and set the primary line
Open the product in the menu and set the quantity and price for the primary line as you normally would. Once a quantity has been added, the Add QTY at Different Price option becomes available.
The Add QTY at Different Price option only turns on after the line item already has a quantity selected.
Note: If the original primary item was added in cases, but you want to add in an additional line as units then choose the Purchase by Each (Unit) option before using the Add QTY at Different Price option. You’ll notice the quantity of the original item converts to units instead, but it will still add up to the total cases ordered for the line item.
Step 2: Add a price tranche
Click the price and select Add QTY at Different Price. A new sub-row appears directly below that product's primary row.
Enter the new price for this tranche (for example, $0.01/Gram for a display unit) and set its quantity.
Important: Each tranche's price must be different from the other tranches for the same product. The one exception: if the product is sold by THC level, different THC levels can share the same price.
Step 3: Add more tranches as needed
You can add an unlimited number of tranches per product per order. Repeat Step 2 for each additional price point.
Note: Once a tranche row exists, it can't be deleted — but you can set its quantity to 0 if you no longer need it.
Step 4: Review the cart and submit
Each tranche appears in the cart as its own line item, grouped together under the parent product. You can add notes to each tranche individually. Each price tranche different from the original price will display a modified-price badge.
Once done verifying, submit the order.

Common Use Cases
Adding Display Units: Sell a standard case at full price and add display jar(s) at a discounted price (i.e. $0.01) in the same cart — no need to jump into the Sales Order form.
Tiered / volume pricing in one order: Offer part of an order at one price and the remainder at a different negotiated price without splitting the order or creating a separate manual line. (i.e. Special promotions, BOGO’s, etc.)
Replacing the trade sample workaround: Reps who used to add a trade sample just to get a second price point can now use a proper price tranche instead — avoiding the compliance risk of an unintended Metrc trade sample flag in regulated states.
Keeping orders in the menu-first workflow: Customers who were routing these orders through other platforms or building them manually in the Sales Order module can now complete them entirely from the DistruCommerce menu.
AI Order Agent requests: Because the menu now supports duplicate line items at different prices, the AI Order Agent can fulfill customer requests that require this pattern — something it couldn't do before.
For example, you can ask the AI Order Agent to “Add 1 case of X product at $0.01 for every 4 cases of X product purchased at full cost”.
Get creative to see what requests can be supported. You can also utilize AI Memories to save specific requests to remember for future orders.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these lines get flagged as trade samples in Metrc?
No. Price tranches flow to the Sales Order as normal line items. No Metrc compliance flag is triggered unless you separately make a trade sample request through the existing trade sample flow.
Can I delete a tranche after adding it?
No — once a tranche row exists it can't be removed. If you don't need it, set its quantity to 0.
Is there a limit to how many price points I can add?
No. You can add an unlimited number of tranches per product per order.
Can two tranches have the same price?
Not for the same product — each tranche must have a different price. The exception is products sold by THC level, where different THC levels can share the same price.
Can buyers do this on the buyer-facing menu?
No. This is a sales-rep-only capability. Buyers cannot modify prices or add tranches.
Does this change the trade sample feature?
No. The trade sample request flow is unchanged and remains a separate workflow.
