Setting up roles with specific permissions for team members

OVERVIEW: Create User Roles with Permissions specific to their responsibilities, ensuring every employee can perform only the tasks necessary for their job and allow for a clean and intuitive experience in Distru.

We recommend creating a role for each type of employee in your company, such as 'Sales Rep', 'Accountant' etc. Check out the end of this article for some commonly found User Roles and our suggested permissions! ⬇️


Creating a Role

  1. Settings > Manage Users > Users & Roles

  2. Select "Create Role"

  3. Give your role a name (Sales Manager; Packager; Finance; etc.)

  4. Open each section to check/uncheck the necessary permissions for that role

  5. Select "Create Role" to save

  6. Assign the role to the appropriate users above, or invite new users under their designated roles via Manage Users > Invitations

Here are a few of the most common types of User Roles and some out-of-the-box Permissions they could have.

  1. Accounting
    - Settings: Quickbooks Configuration, Export Data, Price Tiers, Payment Methods, Payment Terms, Taxes
