1. Create a Menu and Name It
Start by going to the Distru Commerce Seller > Your Menus section, then click Create Menu.
Internal Menu Name: This is visible only to your team and should help you easily identify the menu.
External Menu Name: This is the name retailers will see when they log in to your menu. You can keep it the same or choose something more customer-facing, like your brand name.
2. Visibility and Sharing Settings
Decide who can view and order from your menu:
Public: Anyone with the menu link can view and place orders.
Promote on Distru Commerce "Shop & Discover": If enabled, this will make your menu discoverable to buyers on Distru Commerce "Shop & Discover" within your state.
Private: Only users logged into your menu will be able to access it.
Passcode Protected: Customers will need to enter a password that you can set before viewing the menu.
Menu URL: Distru generates a default menu URL and that will begin "https://app.distru.com/menu/YOUR-DISTRU-COMPANY-NAME/...",, and you can customize the ending.
✅ Pro-Tip: Use hyphens instead of spaces or special characters (for example: spring-menu-2025).
3. Inventory Settings
These settings define how your inventory is handled when retailers order from the menu:
Default Order Status
Choose between:
Pending: Orders do not reserve inventory.
Processing: Inventory is reserved immediately
This option requires "Allow Negative Available Quantity" to be enabled in your company settings).
You can only select this option while editing an existing menu.
Inventory Source (Required): Select at least 1 Distru location to use for this menu. Only inventory from the selected locations will be shown.
Allow Customers to Order More Than Available Quantity: If this is enabled and the company setting for negative quantity is enabled too, customers can place orders beyond available stock.
Show Available Inventory Quantities: Displays real-time stock levels on the menu.
Show Products Without Inventory: If enabled, you can choose to show these as as "SOLD OUT" or not.
4. Customizing Your Menu Appearance
To personalize how your menu looks and feels to your buyers, head over to the Menu Appearance settings within the menu you’re creating or editing. From there, you’ll be able to adjust visuals like banner image, logo, homepage title, contact info, and product layout.
There are two ways to control the Menu Appearance:
Option 1: Customize One Specific Menu
When you update the appearance directly inside a menu (either while creating a new one or editing an existing one), those changes apply only to that specific menu. This is ideal if each menu has different branding needs or audiences.
Option 2: Set a Default Appearance via Customize Distru
If you want to define default Menu Appearance settings, that apply automatically to all newly created menus going forward, scroll to the bottom of the Menu Appearance section and click on the "Customize Distru" link.
This opens the Distru Commerce settings, also accessible via Settings > Customize Distru > Distru Commerce.
Changes made here will become the default appearance for all future menus.
Menus that already exist will not be affected by these changes.
✅ Pro Tip: Use the Customize Distru option if you want consistent branding across all new menus without editing each one manually.

5. Collection Settings
This section lets you rename and reorder the product categories that appear on your menu.
On the left, you’ll see the Category Types associated with your Product Categories, like Concentrates, Flower, etc.
Drag and drop the column names to reorder them.
On the right, you can rename how each category will appear to your customers.
✅ Pro Tip: It’s important to structure your product catalog thoughtfully from the start. If you decide to update categories or introduce new data fields later, Distru’s bulk editing tools in the Products table make it easy to apply changes across multiple items at once.
6. Filter Settings
Filter Settings help customers navigate your menu more easily by letting them refine their search. You’ll see a list of available filters like:
Category
Subcategory
Strain
Brand
Product Group
You can give each filter a custom name that better matches your menu’s tone or brand language.
